March: Milltown

September 3, 2010 No Comments

Milltown is a progressive bluegrass band with traditional roots. The band hails from the Quad-Cities’ Moline, Illinois, which translates from French to English as “Milltown.” The lineup includes Robert Rosenstiel on upright bass, Andy Brown on mandolin, Randy Brown on banjo, Luke Blaser on guitar and Michael Romkey on fiddle. Each member brings to the table a diverse background in music ranging from Bill Monroe to The Beatles. Playing throughout Northern Illinois, Western Iowa alongside such bands as The Henhouse Prowlers and Colorado natives Head For The Hills, Milltown’s mixture of originals, traditional bluegrass, and cross-over transpositions of rock and jazz tunes make their show unique and high energy.
